Summer throws everyone off. The kids are out of school. The days are longer. Bedtimes get later. Routines loosen up. And honestly? That’s not always a bad thing. Summer is made for memories—camping, swimming, BBQs, road trips. But it’s easy to let good habits slide when life looks different.
Here’s the truth: Just because you’re out of your normal rhythm doesn’t mean you have to pause your fitness. You don’t need your full setup or 60 uninterrupted minutes in the gym to stay on track. You just need a plan—and maybe a little motivation.
At CrossFit Reincarnation, we have members who crush their workouts while on the road. They use our remote training program, knock out workouts in motel gyms or living rooms, and stay connected to the progress they’ve worked so hard for. And you can too.
If you’re on vacation this summer, here are three simple, bodyweight-friendly workouts to keep you moving and your routine intact—even when your schedule isn’t.
Vacation Workout #1: “Quick Burner”
For time:
- 21-15-9
- Air Squats
- Push-ups
- Sit-ups
Optional: Add a 400m run before and after
This one’s short, sweet, and spicy. Perfect to start your day before heading to the beach or out sightseeing.
Vacation Workout #2: “Every Minute Counts”
EMOM 12: (Every minute on the minute)
- Minute 1: 10 Jumping Lunges (5 each leg)
- Minute 2: 10 Push-ups
- Minute 3: 10 V-ups
- Repeat 4 rounds
Vacation Workout #3: “Deck of Cards”
Assign each suit to a movement:
- ♠️ = Squats
- ♥️ = Sit-ups
- ♣️ = Push-ups
- ♦️ = Burpees
Draw cards from a deck. The number on the card equals your reps. Face cards = 10. Aces = 11. Shuffle and go until the deck’s done or set a timer for 20 minutes.
Make it a family game and get everyone involved!
A Friendly Reminder:
You’ve worked too hard to start over in September.
Keeping a piece of your routine during the chaos of summer doesn’t have to be complicated. It just takes intention. Whether you’re traveling or your kids are suddenly with you 24/7, movement helps you stay grounded, energized, and focused on your health. That’s what we want for you.
